Nobody takes the eggs.
Hattie sits on her nest. The farmer’s hand, a fox, a magpie, a duck with no manners, a toddler and a cat all try their luck. Tap them and she pecks. Keep every egg for sixty seconds and they hatch into chicks for the brood book. Free with gentle ads, or £2.99 once to remove them.
- 6
- intruders, arriving one by one as the days go on
- 7
- chick breeds to hatch, with a golden one in every hundred
- 5
- hats. They do nothing at all. She loves them.

Sixty seconds of saying no to everyone.
The pitch was one sentence: a broody hen who does not want her eggs taken. Everything else followed from asking who would want them. The expressions on Hattie’s face are the reward.

One thumb, one stubborn bird
Tap near anything that moves and Hattie pecks in the right direction. Ducks take two pecks. Toddlers take three, gently.

A growing cast of chancers
The farmer on day one, the fox on day three, then the magpie, the duck, the toddler and a cat who pretends it is not interested.

Everything that survives hatches
Sunny, Biscuit, Pepper, Freckle, Snowdrop, Bluebell, and one golden Goldie in a hundred. Fill the brood book.

Make the coop yours
A cosier nest for more eggs, a farm dog, a warm lamp, a scarecrow the fox distrusts. Then buy her a hat.

Questions people ask
- What kind of game is Not Your Eggs?
- A cosy reflex game for iPhone and iPad. You are Hattie, a broody hen. For sixty seconds the whole farm tries to take an egg, and you tap to peck them away. Whatever survives hatches into chicks for your brood book.
- Is Not Your Eggs free?
- Yes. It is free with ads only between sits, never during one. A single £2.99 purchase removes every ad forever and is shared with your family.
- Is it suitable for children?
- It is rated 4+ and the toddler is pecked very gently. It is not made for young children, and the free version shows adverts, so an adult should set it up.
- When is it out?
- Not Your Eggs is finished and heading to the App Store. Email [email protected] if you want to hear when it lands.
