Pip & Trowel

Live on the App Store, Android to follow

A garden that grows while your phone is in your pocket.

Plant a radish before breakfast and come back to sunflowers after lunch. It carries on without you.

Pip & Trowel on an iPhone

What kind of game is Pip & Trowel?

A cosy gardening game for iPhone, iPad and Android. You plant seeds, water them when they ask, pull weeds, shoo snails and harvest for coins. Plants grow in real time, even when the app is closed, so visits last a minute or two.

This one is for you if

  • You like checking in on something rather than grinding at it
  • You want a game with no energy bar and nothing to lose
  • You would garden more if the weather in this country allowed it
  • It grows while you are away

Close the app and the garden carries on in real time. Come back to something ready. No energy meters, no timers to buy.

  • Plants that ask

A water-drop bubble means now, please. Ignore it and they wait for you. Weeds and snails turn up if you are gone too long.

  • Ornaments with opinions

A gnome keeps weeds down, a scarecrow keeps snails off, a beehive speeds everything up, and a lily pond is there because it is lovely.

Before you tap

Is Pip & Trowel free?
Yes. It is free with ads between visits to the shop, never while you are gardening. A single £2.99 purchase removes every ad forever and makes rain showers free.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. It plays offline and saves on your device. Growth is worked out from the clock, so nothing needs a server.
Where can I get it?
Pip & Trowel is out now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, free to download. The Android build is finished and following shortly on Google Play.
